Zero Two
"Hi-sto-ry never repeats, I tell myself..."
Strangely enough, I was playing that on my guitar when I got the phone call from Taichi.
"Yamato, man, you'll never believe this!"
And I didn't. The Digital World, open again? I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Gabumon! I could see Gabumon again. But, the danger...I couldn't believe it when I heard the news. Digimon Kaiser? A human boy? It was insane. What made it worse was that we had passed our expiry date, become obsolete. There were three new kids to take the place of me, Taichi, Sora, Koushirou, Jyou, and Mimi.
It was past odd. Watching Daisuke, Miyako, and Iori take our places was...well, to be honest, I didn't know about the others, but to me, it was odd. Almost saddening. Like I was old news; in the way. But they came through in the end -- we all did. Even Ken got through it okay.
In a way, though...it was kind of a relief. We'd all started living our own lives now -- me with my band, for instance. Teen-age Wolves. I want to become a musician more than anything else in the world. Through my music, I can tell everyone about my life -- and they don't even know it. I just close my eyes, and let the melody take me away...next thing I know, words are tumbling out of my mouth, and I'm writing them down furiously.
My band, my music...they're a major part of my life. I guess you could say they took the place of the Digital World. At first, a way to deal with the pain. Then, a way to remember.
I look at my brother, Hikari, Ken, Daisuke, Iori, and Miyako...and I know it's not going to be easy for them. And hell, if I can, I'll help them in any way I can. 'Cause it's not gonna be easy for them -- but they'll remember it forever.
